Many airlines are adjusting the policies for frequent flyer miles. The miles that you already saving for a special trip or vacation may soon be in danger. Some airlines send a message to you, provided by e-mail, the correct address is on file. Other airlines can notify you by e-mail if the notice did not get no more from your e-mail filters. In other cases, the airline can not even tell you. Rather than take the chance, check your frequent flyer policy and the status of the miles that youhave earned.

The following are some of the current policy of the airline at the time of this writing, and are subject to change.

AirTran A + Rewards expire 12 months after earned, so be prepared to use your miles in one year, or they lose

Alaska Mileage Plan miles expire after 3 years of inactivity, so be sure to fly to Alaska at least once every three years to keep your miles active

Aloha Airlines AlohaPass miles do not expire. Mahalo Aloha Airlines.

America WestDividend Miles expire after 18 months of inactivity, so plan at least once a year and a half.

American Airlines AAdvantage Miles expire after 36 months of inactivity, the U.S., all 36 months are planning to go if you want to continue to earn miles

ATA Travel Awards points expire after 24 months so that they are two years ago to use

Continental OnePass and do not currently offer to cancel or expire miles, so save your miles for a special trip

Delta SkyMilesprevious scheme for 36 months were given jobs have been lost, running after 24 months of inactivity, or until the Delta expires, whichever occurs first

Frontier Airlines EarlyReturns miles expire after two years of inactivity, the name of program accordingly, Early Returns

Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles expire after 36 months of inactivity, you can not really wait three years back to get to Hawaii?

JetBlue TrueBlue miles expire 1 year after the miles earned are, so that you may not a chance to use your frequent flyer miles, but at least the prices are low

Midwest offers Midwest Miles expire if no additional miles earned in 36 months, are not very original, but it is the name of the program

Derelict Northwest Airlines WorldPerks miles when none are earned in 3 calendar years, because it may take three years to collect enough points to see the world

Southwest Rapid Rewards credits expire after 24 months, they deserve quickly and use them quickly

> United Airlines Mileage Plus is 36 months to 31 December, and then they will expire after 18 months

U.S. Airways Dividend Miles have been preserved for 36 months now after 18 months of inactivity, as well as leaving the America West program

What do you do when your miles are about to expire, and you do not have enough for that dream vacation? Spend your miles elsewhere, you combine them or donate them. Many frequent flyer programs offer alternative ways to spend your hard drive Miles earned. Many airlines offer the opportunity to cash in their mileage credits to subscribers of a magazine or newspaper, or the funds to benefit other purchases. Look at the affiliate airlines to determine whether there will be an opportunity for you to transfer miles to another airline partner and combine your miles for a much deserved vacation.

If you are interested in your collected donations and unused frequent flier miles to the Red Cross, the IRS itself recognizes it as a donation and a deduction. Imagine, you can donateunused miles before they expire and the IRS will recognize it as a donation. America West Flight Fund members can donate miles to 5000 miles in increments of the Miles of Hope program. Continental makes it easy for OnePass frequent flyer mileage members to donate through the website or call customer service. Northwest Airlines offers two programs that you can take a minimum of 5000 miles of the Red Cross to donate, or you can donate $ 50 to the Red Cross and receive 500 WorldPerks frequent flyer milesreturn. United Airlines frequent flyers may also participate with a donation of at least 1000 miles. The frequent flyer miles through the Red Cross to collect used exclusively for disaster response.
