Basketball Stations - Basketball Drills For a Pre-Practice Warm-up

As a beginning coach, I ignored warm-ups and uses two half-speed ball dribbling drills as a warm-up for more intensive activities in practice. When I to Sweden as a professional coach women's basketball team, were the players' warm-ups married and could not work without a long warm-up. When I practiced with the club men's team, I felt like more than half of the practice was a warm-up. I agreed, in a certain way with my team, we came to our practiceTime and players jumped rope for 5-10 minutes before the grandstand as our warm-up and then we made a submaximal drill on the farm before in our practice.

In our first game, our opponents spent 25 of the allotted 30 minutes warm-up before the game with a basketball. Later in the season, I saw another player go through an extensive plyometric pre-game warm-up. While criticizing the American players in Europe for their defensive deficiencies, defensive footwork, the Swedish playersimpressed me. We proceed normally assume that a foreign-born players with its skilful footwork footwork developed by playing football, but when I talk about my experiences abroad, coaching, it seemed as if before the game and practice routines focused on footwork and led to its development.

The following season, when I prepared to practice and practice routines, I conducted a series of warm-ups begin practice: focus on footwork drills, and jumping ability. Coaching for women who practice before theJumping and agility program is an attempt to increase performance and injury, as researchers believe, women can reduce the risk of ACL injuries caused by a small plyometric routine.

I use three general warm-up routines: (1) Jump Rope "(2) stations, or (3) plenary dynamic warm-up (Carioca, backwards running, jumping, lateral bounding, high knees, butt occurs and high / current skips) . Our warm-up now takes 10-15 minutes.

Warm-up Stations

If our stationWarm-up, we jog, coaster brake and carioca. Since we have 10 players, we work in pairs. Our focus is on quick changes of direction and the first step to teach speed.

Station 1: Mirror Drill (15 seconds, rest for 15 seconds, 15 seconds)

We get most of our on-ball defensive posture and movement through this exercise and later in 1v1 drills. The players face each other and one player starts as the offensive player and one as the defender. The offensive player will move sideways, try and stay on the defensive players, face to face. The offensive player goal is to create space between the two of them, while the defender tries to stay within the width of the body of an offensive player.

Station 2: Mikan Drill

The first player goes for 30 seconds and then comes the second player. Drill practice baby hook shots. Start under the basket with his left foot and step on the right side with your right hand to shoot, grab the ball from the net to keep the ballover their shoulders and step on the left side of the rim with his right foot, shooting with his left hand. Further.

Station 3: Jump Squats

Squat and jump as high as possible, swinging his arms high into the air. You can concentrate on a soft landing, so they land correctly from a vertical jump and absorb the force of the impact into the muscles of the legs, not only in the quadriceps and knee. Squat to a half squat, with the underside of the thighs parallel to the ground beforeJumping.

Station 4: x-Lay-ups

Make as many lay-ups in 30 seconds and then switch. Start by dribbling one elbow, and try a lay-up. Rebound, and run to the other elbow, dribbling, and try to make a lay-up from the other side. Continue for 30 seconds.

Station 5: Partner Shooting

Player 1 Player 2 opens and closes off. P2 catches, shoots, and follows her shot. P1 is directed against the host and moves, moves continuously and demand the ball. To P1 and P2 will Competitionsshot. Partner shooting for a minute.

Station 6: McHale Drill

Left hand tips ball constantly against the back wall while the right hand picks up the network (RIM). Do six and you move to the right. Right hand tips ball against wall, while the left hand uses the network (RIM). Repeat on the left side for a total of 18 tips. Switch partner.

Station 7: T-Drill with 2 ball dribbling

Align the T-Drill with stem 5-7 meters apart in the shape of a T.Start at the base of the T and Sprint forward while dribbling two balls. Shuffle to the left cone, then to the right cone, and finally back to the crossroads. Back pedal on the base of the T. Go shoot three times. The other player practices stationary two-ball drills at rest.

These exercises provide a quick fast-paced warm-up, requires little instruction and ensures the players sweat. Our focus is always fast through the drill: players sprint from station to stationdrill and practice with the intensity in each. The warm-up focuses on ball control (6 a.m. to 7 p.m.), rapid changes of direction (1 a.m. to 7 p.m.), Goto (3 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and shooting (2, 4 a.m. to 5 p.m.), training a variety of skills in short time.

Wine Travel - Finger Lakes and the Canandaigua Wine Trail

Located in west-central New York, the Finger Lakes region an ideal destination for everyone. Families, couples, seniors, children and schools will all feel at home here. It's a four season, with numerous outdoor activities and a natural generosity, derived from a fascinating mix of elements.

The Finger Lakes themselves are a phenomenon. Actually glacial lakes, formed thousands of years ago carved by the retreat of glaciers in the world. Look at a map, the lakeslook like fingers - long and narrow, which stretches from north to south. There are 11 counts in the region through our own, with the two largest, Cayuga and Seneca, is the heart.

The region is filled with valleys, hills and spectacular scenery, especially in the fall. Charming small towns rich, and there is a sense of art are inspired perhaps by the surroundings. To make a record from the Finger Lakes Visitor's Guide distress, it is a partnership of scenic Napa ValleyScotland here. I would would not take their word, but if Scotland is only half as beautiful as the Finger Lakes, I like to go tomorrow!

It is simple, the Finger Lakes region, which lies south of the New York State Thruway (I-get 90). You're about a 90-minute drive from either Rochester or Syracuse, two cities, the underrated justify a visit.

Canandaigua Wine Trail

Canandaigua is a real piece of America, with a historic downtown and all kinds of unique placesto visit. Our first stop was with the voltage of the New York Wine and Culinary Center expected on Main Street in Canandaigua.

The NYWCC is a perfect place to meet with New York wines and foods. The emphasis here is the visitors about the rich wine in New York, to educate food and culinary traditions. You can take a class here, enjoy a wine dinner, learn what a sommelier, and much more. It is a teaching theater and hands on cooking, where you can create your own masterpiece. So do not miss out, the New York City Garden is located outside the building. Depending on the season, you find may be willing to pick grapes, apples, tomatoes, or any number of other native plants.

Wilhelmus Estate Winery

Open since 2007, is the pride of Buon Wilhelmus Estate Winery and Karen Keunen who named the winery after his father Buon. We loved their Cayuga White, a white light and fruity offerings. Even better is in our estimation, was the Free Run Traminette. "Free Run" is a termused to describe the situation when the harvesting process ruptures the skin of the grapes. The juice from these grapes is concentrated in the transport, leading to a high concentration of sugar, fruit esters and tannins. We especially enjoyed the spice of this wine, and thought it would be a great companion for a pig or a bowl of stir fry.

Just a general comment about the Finger Lakes wineries ... each of them incredible scenery. A better word isstunning. It's like Mother Nature's best here, with fresh air and valleys cascading down to the lakes. The soil is fertile, the climate invigorating. You really need in this field experience to really offer anything to feel your senses.

Finger Lakes wineries in Naples

At the extreme southern end of Canandaigua Lake, you will find the charming village of Naples and the Arbor Hill Grapery and winery. Arbor Hill is a welcoming place, as can be. The mainBuilding looks a bit like a country house, white clapboard with a large sign above the awning.

Once inside, it becomes even more inviting. It is a nice gift shop where you can go through all kinds of Finger Lakes specialty products, from grape pies, to clothes to household goods. But the star here is the wine.

Our first taste was one of the newer wines Arbor Hill's, the Vergennes. We had not heard of this kind, and it is reminiscent of Riesling in a certain way, especially theto end crisp. We have learned that wine made with grapes that are part of Lambrusco, it is essentially a white wine made with red grapes. A new tasty to us, but pronounced! And in less than 11 U.S. dollars a bottle, it is the best buy.

Another variety that we were never tried before, Arbor Hill's Sparkling Chardonnay. Dry as a chardonnay, but effervescent tablets, like a good champagne, it's a perfect complement to the two styles.

We absolutely loved Onnalinda White, a blend of Cayuga, Traminette, and Vidal. We expected that this sweet, but it's just so easy, simply a drunk who joined us for our journey home.

Imagine Moore and Widmer

With a unique name and a beautiful environment, Imagine Moore Winery was next on our list. They are housed in a restored barn, is seen from the Civil War, with a panoramic view of Naples Valley from the wrap-around deck. We even met a few olive trees directly to the terrace.

Here, where do you come to buy a major shoulddry Riesling. The name, Joy, fits perfectly. The mix of fruit flavors and aromas is all that should be a Riesling. Of all the wines agencies Moore, do not miss this one.

Since we are always searching for wisdom, we felt compelled to try to Make Moore's Cabernet Franc. His name is really wisdom. And it was a wise choice, indeed, a tasty, complex, wine, fruit forward, we feel pair well with pasta. PS - it does!

This was an ideal place for a bitIn the afternoon relax. We can not be the attitude of the law. The air is fragrant and fresh, with a warm breeze valley. we knew why so many things to grow here, as it seems this area is blessed with all the necessary natural resources. Also of note, Imagine Moore, partner with the Brown Hound Bistro for dinner and wine tasting events. We have not one, but we can not understand how you would go wrong.

Last but not least on our trip to Naples was aVisit Widmer winery. Widmer is one of the largest and most successful wineries in the United States. Be the Manischewitz brand known - it is produced here.

We recommend a tour of this vibrant, modern facility. It is approximately 45 minutes long, and you'll see everything. Of course, you will end up in the tasting room and gift shop! If you are here, try Widmer's Lake Niagara Harvest Blush, an easy sipper you want to take your next picnic. The souvenir shop is also appealing, with shelves of wine gifts, jellies, stacked juices, and gourmet treats.

Final Thoughts

New York's Finger Lakes region is an ideal destination for wine travel lovers, outdoor enthusiasts and craftsmen. It's a little something for everyone, including the spectacular scenery and a quiet, relaxed pace. Whether it's a family vacation or just a weekend getaway, you 're sure the Finger Lakes you will find a comfortable journeyTarget.

Your Miles Have an Expiration Date

The author is not affiliated with any airline or frequent flyer program, and makes no claims with respect to certain programs that do not allege that he is a better style of program, in a comprehensive sense. The intent of this article is for travelers with a fair comparison of the options available to enable them to make informed decisions that fit their individual situation.

--

American Airlines has their AAdvantage program in 1981. United Airlines quickly followed with the factMileage Plus. Today, almost every airline has its own frequent flyer program.

As they spread, these programs have developed beyond their original purpose of promoting aviation, today they are divisions of its own. Instead of the actual miles flown will be limited to members of miles for restaurants, stores earn, and with a credit card. You can also redeem their miles for gifts, electronics and other goods as well as traditional and complimentary ticketsUpgrades.

With these extensions, but also has a price: airline miles expire.

Now I know what you think. I tell you that you have spent all this time to build miles, they will disappear before you can use it. Well, maybe. That actually depends on the airline.

Not all frequent flyer programs are the same. On the one hand, the programs are of the traditional carriers, a term given to the seven airlines that remain from the periodof regulation. We (those who call the major airlines, but that's a category on the basis of revenue, today they are not the only ones to qualify.)

The traditional carriers - American, United, U.S. Airways, Delta, Northwest, Continental and Alaska Air - typically award travelers a frequent flyer mile for every actual mile flown, plus bonuses, and apply regardless of other offers. The miles are valid for three years from the date of last activity, defined as the last time thatMiles were to be earned or redeemed. This is important because you have your miles with a legacy airline with only one activity every three years.

On the other side of the coin, the low-cost model, the popularity of leading airlines such as Southwest, AirTran favors, and JetBlue. The low-cost model assigns points or credits based on travel within the region. These points generally expire one year after the date of issue, specifically, and special offers, depending on the carrier, there can be no possibility to extend it.

Well, a few considerations. Above all, not every low-cost carrier of the low cost model follows. Frontier Airlines, for example, is a low-cost airline, but its EarlyReturns frequent flyer program uses miles instead of points, and they do not expire as long as the activity in a two-year window.

Secondly, while the legacy airlines to frequent flyers can buy their magazines, cameras, and other goods, the programs run by the low cost --Makers tend to focus on air travel (ie, free tickets and provide for the few low-cost carriers that two classes of service, upgrades). All things being equal, it usually takes fewer flights to the credits you need to get a free "anytime" ticket with a low-cost airline, as it takes to enough miles for the same ticket with a Legacy carriers earn merit.

In this sense, if you want to join a frequent flyer program, here are some tips that will help you to decide what kind ofProgram to join to get the most benefit from your personal travel habits:

Select a single airline, and do your best always fly with that carrier. If you have your airline partner of choice, you can fly with them, but do not sign up for their loyalty programs. Miles can not realistically be combined or transferred between accounts, even between partners. Consider where you want to travel. If you earn miles to take a trip outside of North America, you have to order one of thetraditional airlines as the main airline. (No low-cost carrier currently has its own or with partners service outside of North America.) If most of your trip is in the United States and you travel often, you win free tickets faster with a frequent flyer program that follows the low -- cost model. If you do not travel often, go with a program that uses the older model. The crucial factor is that there is a way to expand your credit card, so that they do not expire. They do not want to 96Loans and find out that the first 20 two days running before you had the four you had free for the 100-credit 's fare. There no doubt that it already requires some effort to the operation of frequent flyer programs and the true mastery need to learn is really a challenge. If you follow the guidelines presented here, even if you can make informed decisions to make to help you get the most out of your travel and enable you to more of the world on whatever budget you can afford to see. That's whatAsk.

Condom Effectiveness - Are Condoms Effective?

All methods of contraception are used to prevent pregnancy, but condoms have the added advantage that they protect against infection and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). How effective are condoms do these two things? Are they really as effective as other contraceptive methods to prevent pregnancy? And since one of the most common reasons for using a condom is to protect against infection, they are actually infected with an effective barrier against sexually transmitted diseases? In this article we look at some of these issues.

Does using a condom to prevent pregnancy?

Condoms are a very effective means of preventing pregnancy. Of course, no method of contraception is 100% effective because there will always be instances of incorrect or inconsistent use. This applies to the "pill" or any other form of contraception as condoms. However, clinical studies have shown that high quality condoms, when used consistently and correctly, offeran excellent barrier against pregnancy. These studies have shown that correct and
consistent use of condoms can rate between 95% and 98% contraceptive efficacy.

How often do condoms fail?

The main reason that condoms "fail" to prevent pregnancy or infection, it is not because the condom itself has "failed" but because of incorrect of inconsistent
use. Latex condoms can be weakened by oil lubricants such as Vaseline. They can be weakened by exposureto sunlight or by age. Sometimes they are torn by teeth or fingernails. But let's leave aside the incorrect use of condoms
almost never "fail".

How often condoms break or slip?

In the United States, most studies of fracture due to errors in the condom itself have shown breakage rate, causing less than 2 condoms out of 100 condoms. Studies also show that condoms will slip off the penis in about 1-5% of acts of vaginal intercourse and slip (but not off)approximately 3-13% of the time. These prices are influenced by the care, an increase if you use a condom.

Condoms are effective in preventing HIV infection or STDs?

Studies have shown that if a condom is used correctly and consistently (every time you have sex), they are a very effective barrier against infection. This was made particularly clear by studies of "discordant" couples in Europe to demonstrate. A "nuisance" is a pair, in which an infected partnerHIV and others do not. In a study with 123 couples in which condoms were used consistently, none of the infected partners became infected.

Do thinner condoms give less protection against pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases?

Thinner condoms are equally effective as a protection against pregnancy or infection with sexually transmitted diseases. However, they can more easily damaged by fingernails, teeth, jewelry and other misuse, so that extra care to, when a thinner Condom.

Condoms are all thoroughly tested before they sold?

All brand condoms are subjected to strict quality control tests at every stage of the manufacturing process. In the U.S., each condom is electronically tested for holes and errors. The samples are taken from each lot and visually examined by a water leak test. In this test, the filled samples
long with 300 ml of water and exposed to 3 minutes.

Samples from each lot are also subjected to> Air tightness testing. This includes the examination of filling condoms with air until they reach the bursting. She holds generally about 40 liters of air - equivalent to 9 liters of water!

Other examples of size and thickness tested, have tested some of the destruction of physical force, and still others are artificially achieved through the application of high temperatures to make sure they hold their quality well beyond the product guarantee 5 years of life in old age.

In allWhat are condoms demonstrated that an effective way to prevent pregnancy as well as a very effective way of guarding themselves against HIV or STD infection.
